Ultra-processed foods include bread, fast foods, sweets, coffees, cakes, snacks, breakfast cereals, chicken and fish nuggets, instant noodles, sugary drinks and sodas.

These foods have been linked to several chronic diseases like heart disease, cancer and others and now new research has revealed another downside.

Research from Monash University in Australia has shown that excessive consumption of ultra-processed foods makes us prone to premature aging.

According to research, these foods accelerate biological aging.

It should be noted that the age of each individual is determined by the date of birth (chronic age), but in medical terms there is also a biological age (biological age) which corresponds to the age of physical and mental functions.

Genes, lifestyle and other factors affect this biological age and the older the age, the higher the risk of various diseases.

Another great benefit of good sleep came to light

The study examined data from more than 16,000 people between the ages of 20 and 79 and analyzed their health and lifestyle.

Research has discovered a clear link between consumption of ultra-processed foods and accelerated biological aging.

According to research, every 10% increase in the intake of ultra-processed foods creates a difference of 2.4 months between biological age and chronological age.

Individuals who get 68 to 100 percent of their daily calories from ultra-processed foods are about a year older than their biological age in 2 months.

The results suggest that we should consume less processed foods, the researchers said.

He added that increased consumption of ultra-processed foods increases biological age, increasing the risk of premature death by about 2 percent and the risk of any chronic disease by 0.2 percent.

They said that if 200 of your 2,000 calories a day consist of ultra-processed foods, it increases biological age.
